Suicide themes

A suicide attempt is shown in episode 2, but the character does not die. After taking a psychedelic drug, a character attempts to poison themselves using their vehicle exhaust. The scene shows the character with teary eyes while revving the car. As they lose consciousness, they experience symbolic flashbacks to witnessing a parent’s suicide in childhood. No detail is shown, the focus is emotional rather than graphic. The character regains consciousness shortly afterwards and is not harmed. The scene lasts around three minutes.

In the next episode, the character appears to have processed the experience and expresses gratitude for being alive. There are also several references to a character’s suicide in the same episode.

In episode 4 there is another suicide attempt. While on a lot of drugs and during an escalated situation, a character jumps from their balcony. You see this happen, and them subsequently falling. The character survives with their bloodied injuries shown.

Sex scenes and nudity

Sex scenes are frequent throughout the series, with varied levels of detail and nudity. The strongest scenes include:

  • Two characters are shown fully nude during a sexual encounter. Sexual activity is implied through movement and vocal sounds. Breasts are visible, but no genital detail is shown. The scene is filmed from a distance. After the encounter, one character opens a drawer and removes a large sex toy before the scene cuts away.
  • A female character invites another woman to engage in sexual activity with her partner while she observes from a chair. Oral sexual activity is implied, with brief verbal direction given. After this, the observing woman approaches and begins sexual contact with the other woman before the scene cuts away.

Drug use

Industry features frequent drug use with various substances inclunding cocaine, ketamine, and LSD.

A character dies of a drug overdose after ingesting a large amount of ketamine, cocaine and alcohol.

A character takes a tab of the psychedelic drug LSD, which leads to erratic behaviour. This includes suicidal thoughts and an attempted suicide. The character is depicted as struggling with addiction, and the negative consequences are shown through his wife confronting him verbally about his behaviour. In the following episode, the character acknowledges that his actions were inappropriate.

Offensive language

Offensive language such as f**k, sh*t, bullsh*t, and c**t is used frequently. Mostly it is used during conversations and in either a friendly or aggressive manner, however variations of the word f*ck are also used in sex scenes.
