The teenage characters in this film are now understood to be 17 and 18 years old. They attend parties and go to pubs where there is alcohol, and some of them drink it. Some of the characters are shown to be in committed relationships and understood to be having consensual sex.

Sex scenes and sexual references

Characters talk about having sex and wanting to have sex. There is vocalised consent.

The camera focuses on the characters’ faces, though we understand sexual activity is occurring, like mutual masturbation. The (male) characters are usually topless.

In one scene, one character lies on top of the other and thrusts; the camera focuses on bare backs, shoulders, and faces.

We see a character reach into another’s underpants, but the camera zooms out.

Offensive language

There is non-frequent use of the word “sh*t”, used in moments of stress, and even less-frequent use of the word “f*cking”, used as an adjective and reacted to with shock.

Content that may disturb

There is brief discussion of a character’s past issues with disordered eating. They are shown dealing with the threat of relapse by talking to a therapist.

A character goes through a stage of drinking too much, which worries his partner and friends. He is shown acting drunk, angry, and vomiting. The behaviour is not glamorised.
