Why did it get this rating?

This series was self-rated by Netflix. You can find out more about self-rating by streaming providers here.

Self-harm

A character is in therapy related to their thoughts of self-harm, which was a theme in the first two seasons. It’s implied that the same character might have an eating disorder and is shown vomiting in the bathroom.

Sexual themes

There are numerous sex scenes and references throughout the series. The sex scenes are implied rather than depicting explicit sex. For example, it’s implied that two teenage characters have sex when we see one character on top of the other and the boy buckling his belt back up afterwards. Sex scenes with adult characters tend to be more confident and sensual but they’re still not long or explicit.

Some references are explicit, such as a teenage boy asking a teenage girl for “head.”

Sexual violence themes

A teenage boy pressures a teenage girl to do sexual acts until she agrees. This scene could be upsetting for people who have or know someone who has had similar experiences. The acts are implied, but not shown.

Offensive language

This season contains frequent use of offensive language, with words like “a**hole,” “sh*t,” and “b*tch.”
