Extrapolations is an 8-episode drama that examines the effects of climate change in the near future. Beginning in 2037, each episode jumps forward in time to show the impact of decisions made by individuals, corporations and governments.

Offensive language

There is regular use of highly offensive language, mainly the word “f**k” and its derivatives. The language is mainly used for emphasis or as an expression of frustration. Episode 5 has the most amount of highly offensive language.

Sex

There are occasional sexual references and themes. Episodes 6 and 7 have the strongest content, including sex scenes where sexual intercourse and masturbation are implied. Non-sexual breast nudity is very briefly shown in Episode 6.

Violence

The strongest violence takes place in Episode 5 which features two characters being beaten, several policemen being shot, and a woman being stabbed in the neck during a shootout. A man is mauled by a walrus off-screen in Episode 1.

Suicide

A climate protester sets themselves on fire in Episode 1. A woman is shown falling from a building in Episode 8.

Animal cruelty

There are non-detailed discussions about animals becoming extinct in several episodes. The last remaining humpback whale in the world is tricked into believing there are others of her species in Episode 2. A woman explains how foie gras is made by overfeeding geese in Episode 7.
