Why did it get this rating?
This series was self-rated by Prime Video. You can find out more about self-rating by streaming providers here.
The storyline follows Elle fitting in at a new school, very much a fish-out-of-water as an LA girl now attending a Seattle high school. General themes of being excluded and made fun of for being different are portrayed throughout the series.
Dangerous behaviour
Characters talk about conspiring to blackmail the principal.
We see underage drinking at a music gig. A character jumps into the mosh pit and is caught by the dancers. Another character is knocked out on in the mosh pit and suffers a possible concussion.
Drug references
There are references to the ‘stoner’ crowd at high school, but we don’t see them taking drugs.
A character makes a joke about putting ‘pot’ in brownies, and characters discuss implying to the ‘stoner’ classmates that the brownies are special, so they attend a rally.
Offensive language
In episode six there are several mentions of ‘f**k’. The first in a song lyric played in the background. The second is mumbled by a character, but the subtitles clearly show it as ‘f**k’
