Death in the Dorms is a docuseries that details the true stories of students at different Universities in the US whose lives were senselessly cut short after they were murdered. Their loved ones provide background on who the students were, what happened to them and the aftermath of these tragedies.

Episode 1: Jenna Burleigh

A vibrant and charismatic Jenna Burleigh was excited to start back at university after overcoming illness and mental health troubles. Jenna is brutally murdered after going home with Joshua Hupperterz and getting separated from her friends. Jenna’s memory is turned into something beautiful as her family and friends continue her passion for helping those less fortunate and giving people ‘Jenna’s Blessing Bags’.

Violence, sexual violence and content may disturb

It’s implied that Jenna and Joshua initially engage in consensual sex, but it takes a dark turn. During a violent struggle he strangles and kills her. Images of her body are not shown but it is said that she is covered in defensive wounds and extensive injuries. Images are shown of Joshua's injuries, including scratches on his neck and a hand wound with stitches. There is blood on some toilet paper.

During the trial, Joshua’s defence argues that it was his roommate that killed Jenna, saying that he came into the room when Jenna started screaming, pushed her down the stairs and stomped on her. This was not proven in court and rejected by the jury. Images of the container Joshua used to transport Jenna’s body is shown multiple times.
