Violence
The film includes scenes of police aggression during protests, as well as instances of bullying and physical altercations, reflecting the societal tensions of the 1981 Springbok tour era. While these scenes are emotionally impactful and link to historic events, the violence is not overly graphic. An example of violence include:
- During protests, people get stomped on, kicked and punched, and weapons such as batons are used. Afterwards people are shown lying on the ground with blood on them.
Offensive language
There is some offensive language including “sh*t,” “bullsh*t,” “ass” and “crap.” The word “f**k” can be seen on the wall in graffiti. Racist graffiti is also sprayed on a building.
