Radhe

What's it about?

Radhe is an Indian crime thriller starring Salman Khan. Drugs are rampant throughout Mumbai with dealers targeting young people. Specialist police officer Radhe is tasked to rid the city of this scourge. To do this, he’ll need the cooperation of the two major local gangs. When not running after criminals, Radhe pursues love interest Diya. Several dance numbers also feature.

What to expect

Radhe is a slickly produced, highly entertaining action feature with an engaging plot. The feature depicts bloody and callous killings that are likely to shock and disturb younger viewers. Exposure to this extent of violence, which is presented as entertaining and exciting, is trivialising of real-world violence and likely to have an inuring effect on younger teenagers and children. The implied instances of sexual violence add to the impact of the generally violent content. The feature also shows the hero Radhe and the police engage in violent acts that skirt the law. This may give impressionable viewers the impression that such behaviour can be condoned in particular circumstances.
