Violence
The film shows sci-fi fantasy violence on a hostile plant with deadly plants, tentacled beasts with razor-toothed jaws. We see characters stab, slash, shoot and sever body parts of their opponents. Characters show little pain and have advanced technology to self-repair (even after decapitation).
Examples of the violence include:
- A character’s arm is severed, before he is stabbed in the back and beheaded off-screen, shown with green blood.
- A charging giant bird is slain off screen, shown with an orange spray.
- A creature is sliced by a laser sword, and its spine held up as a trophy.
- A creature is impaled through the skull. Black liquid spurts when the weapon is withdrawn.
- A creature is shot and beheaded, and tendrils regrow from its neck and reattach to its head.
- A character severs another’s arm and another creature bites-off the victim’s head.
Content that may disturb
- A physically smaller character is rejected and condemned to death for being a ‘runt’.
- A creature is captured for its potential usefulness, separating it from its child.
- A character is captured and his brain probed with sharp instruments.
Coarse language
The word ‘sh*t’ is used once as an exclamation.
