Low level violence

Violence in this film is largely comical and followed by reassuring outcomes, with lots of chase scenes and alien weapons that create portals. There are scenes where people are accidentally struck on the head and kicked.

Some of the strongest scenes of violence include:

  • A child pushes a bully off a stage during a dance.
  • There is a scene where an alien is electrocuted and shot with tranquilizer darts and laser guns.

Frightening scenes

A main character sacrifices themsleves to save a friend. We see their hand reach out as they disappear underwater, while their friend screams, trying to help. Although this scene is emotional, the character is later shown to be okay.

There are references to a girl's deceased parents.

The appearance of the villain, Jumba, is scarier than the original animated version.

Mild language

This film contains some mild language, including “what the hell.”

Younger characters use child-like insults, like “pizza face,” “garbage girl,” and “hairy potato.”
