What’s it about?
King of the Hill follows the lives of rigid-minded propane salesman Hank Hill, his family, and their friends in the quaint Texas city of Arlen, where mundane but sometimes outrageous things happen.

Adult themes
The series deals with adult situations which may be inappropriate for younger viewers, like smoking, dysfunctional families, domestic abuse, racial stereotyping, LGBTQ+ acceptance, grieving deceased loved ones, and even subjects like sexual harassment and suicidal thoughts. Though some of these topics may go over younger viewers heads, it may encourage discussions by parents or caregivers with tamariki and rangatahi.
Sexual themes
Sometimes characters can be seen making out or are implied to have engaged in sexual intercourse. These moments are usually for comic effect.
Nudity
Sometimes characters can be seen nude, but private areas are covered, and we do not see anything explicit. Nudity depictions are mostly done for comedic purposes.
Violence
Characters in King of the Hill are seen several times watching a show where a “villain” often kills his victims in brutal ways by shooting and/or stabbing them; however the violence is more slapstick-based rather than graphic in nature.
Drug use and references
In season 4, episode 14, a character is seen smoking a cigarette that is said to be marijuana. One character describes it as “chronic from Mexico” and how it gets you “high” and “stoned.”
Offensive language
This show contains the use of mild offensive language, with words like “sh*t” and “damn.”
