Violence and frightening scenes
Elio contains mild violent scenes which young viewers may find frightening. The strongest moments include:
- A character is hit in the eye during a fight, leading to them having to wear an eye patch.
- A character is held hostage in a cell containing the skeleton of an ex-prisoner.
- There are a few chase scenes, including one which makes it seem like a character won’t survive (they turn out fine).
Sad scenes
- A character’s parents are dead, which is talked about a few times and causes them to be sad.
- A character is the victim of bullying at a summer camp. Other characters prank them and chase them through the woods in the dark.
Mild language
