Why did it get this rating?
This series was self-rated by Neon. You can find out more about cross-rating here.
Sexual violence
In the first episode a character drugs and attempts to rape a woman in his room. Another character intervenes just in time and stops the assault and kills the predator. There is no explicit sexual assault shown—no nudity or graphic depiction—but the scene strongly implies a violent sexual attack.
Violence
The first two episodes are far more graphic than the original shows Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin. With the plot line following a serial killer killing other murderers there is a lot of bloody violence and dismembered bodies shown throughout. The strongest scenes include:
- A character beats someone to death with a toilet top, before dismembering them.
- There is a flashback scene of a woman’s dead body in a bloody bathtub.
- A character is shown being held hostage and asked if anyone would miss him when he dies. His body is later found beheaded, implying he was violently killed. The scene depicting his dead body is gory.
Offensive language
This series contains frequent offensive language with words like “f**k” and “sh*t.”
Drug use
A character is briefly shown snorting cocaine off the back of his hand.
