Detective Chinatown 3

What is it?

Detective Chinatown 3 is the third film in a comedic series featuring mismatched detective duo Tang Ren and Qin Feng. In this instalment Tang Ren and Qin Feng head to Tokyo to team up with Japanese detective Noda Hiroshi who needs their help to prove the innocence of a Japanese Yakuza (Watanabe Masuru) who has been framed for the murder of a rival gangster (Su Chaiwit).

What to expect

Detective Chinatown 3 mixes a slapstick buddy comedy with a murder mystery. The film is meant to appeal to a large audience of all ages and its unrestricted availability is unlikely to be injurious to the public good. The ways in which the film deals with matters of sex, cruelty and crime are low in impact and unlikely to lead to serious harm to younger viewers. Whilst the violence in the film has stronger elements that may momentarily startle some viewers, the comedic tone tends to mitigate any serious impact. Nevertheless, the presence of bloody violence indicates the film is more suitable for a mature audience.
