Violence
Weapons such as guns, tasers, bombs, and lasers are used by characters. There are scenes where characters kick, punch, hit and bite on one another.
No injuries are shown and a lot of the violence is meant to be funny.
Scary scenes
One of the characters transforms from a man into a violent cockroach monster. He uses a special gun to transform several other characters into mindless cockroach monsters against their will, and also has a giant machine that looks and moves like a cockroach.
In one scene, Gru Jr. is kidnapped and cries as he is taken from his home. Gru is horrified when he realises his baby has been taken and is afraid he won’t get to him before something terrible happens.
