Why did it get this rating?
Sex scenes
Sex scenes are mild and inexplicit. Characters in love kiss and embrace passionately before entering a room. There are sexual gestures and references to sex. Safe sex reminders are delivered in a comedic style.
Offensive language
CODA contains moderate use of coarse language such as “bitching”, “asshole”, “screw” and “twat”, largely used in everyday context between family members bantering with each other. There is exactly one use of the word “f**k”, presented as an unintended use in sign language and subtitled.
Drug Use
There is a scene showing drug use depicted to a mild level, but it is immediately called out as inappropriate behaviour.
