At an archaeological dig in the ancient city of Hamunaptra, an American serving in the French Foreign Legion accidentally awakens a mummy who begins to wreak havoc as he searches for the reincarnation of his long-lost love.

Violence

This film has a few scenes with violence; the strongest moments include: 

  • A man threatens to cut another man’s head open with the blade of a fan if he doesn’t give him answers.
  • In one scene, a man is stabbed in the back multiple times by two people, however, this happens behind a curtain so only shadows are seen.
  • After a man is hung but doesn’t die, he is seen being strangled by the rope.
  • Some men are shot by acid from a booby trap. They scream in pain as the acid melts their skin.

Scary scenes

There are various mummies and zombie-like beings in this movie. They are shot, stabbed, blown up, and set on fire, with no blood shown.

The mummy’s appearance can be frightening for some, especially younger viewers.

Offensive language

The film contains some offensive language, with words like “sh*t,” “sons of b*tches,” and “ass.”
