Violence

The film features low-level violence softened by humour and its unrealistic settings. Weapons such as pistols, machine guns, and lasers are used at close range, but no one is killed or seriously injured. Teh strongest scenes include:

  • A plane crashes into the sea with two people on board. In a later scene it shows the characters are unharmed.
  • A group of children are nearly destroyed by a machine that turns rubbish into bowling balls and bedpans.
  • In the final scene characters hanging from a cliff and are shot at with both pistols and lasers.

The 1990s cinematography makes these scenes feel less intense and impactful than they might have when the film was first released.
