Other (non-film) publications

The Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993, under section 13(1)(c), gives any member of the public the right to submit a publication, other than a film, to the Classification Office.

You need to get the approval of the Chief Censor first.

Your application should include:

  • A copy of the publication you want classified;
  • A completed submission form (PDF v7.0, 82kb) and the correct fee of $25 for members of the public and organisations without a financial interest in a publication; and
  • A covering letter outlining your interest in getting the publication classified (optional).

For more information about making a non-film submission, contact the Information Unit.
